Job summary

CACI is seeking a Tier 2 IT Operations Specialist to join the DIA CIS program in a 24/7 operating environment. You will support day-to-day IT operations, perform Tier 2 troubleshooting, coordinate with Tier 3, and push maintenance across both classified and unclassified ecosystems.

Requirements include current TS/SCI clearance, DOD 8140/Security+ certification, and 4+ years of hands-on IT experience. This role involves up to 10% travel within the continental US.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Top Secret SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to start
  • DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role (minimum Security+)
  • Academic and professional experience requirements (AA/BA/BS/MS/PhD with years of experience)
  • Minimum of 4 years hands‑on IT hardware and software integration and maintenance experience
  • Vendor, professional or OEM certifications are preferred
  • Ability to coordinate with Tier 3 and Engineering for advanced troubleshooting
  • Willingness to learn new skills and technologies

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the 24/7 global operations team
  • Provide Tier 2 incident analysis, troubleshooting, break/fix, and hands-on support
  • Coordinate with Tier 3 resources for complex issues
  • Perform scheduled and ad hoc maintenance, updates, and upgrades
  • Manage patching across workstations and servers
  • Develop action plans and milestones documentation
  • Monitor capacity, performance, and service levels for reliability
  • Participate in Continual Service Improvement (CSI) initiatives
  • Utilize lab facilities for incident resolution and testing
  • Support deployment of engineered solutions via Blue/Green fielding
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Government stakeholders, and Writers on SOPs and knowledge artifacts
  • Assist in creating CDRL documentation and reports

The Opportunity

The CIS program supports our intelligence customer deliver IT services to conduct its globally distributed operations.


We are driving an exciting technological transformation of customer IT services by leading the design, development, implementation, and operation of cutting‑edge solutions.


This includes continuous service improvement through the modernization of IT system infrastructure.


CACI is looking for an experienced, innovative, and motivated Tier 2 IT Operations Specialist to support the mission objectives and needs of the customer, the Defense Intelligence Agency.


In this role you will support day-to-day operations, perform Tier 2 troubleshooting, execute maintenance tasks, assist senior specialists, and help ensure consistent delivery of enterprise IT capabilities across DIA’s classified and unclassified ecosystems.


The position is contingent upon award of the DIA SITE III CIO Infrastructure Services (CIS) contract.


Responsibilities


  • Serves as a key member of the global, 24/7 operations team supporting all infrastructure, devices, products, and solutions

  • Provides comprehensive Tier 2 support, including incident analysis, troubleshooting, break/fix, and hands‑on touch labor across multiple IT domains

  • Coordinates with Tier 3 resources for troubleshooting

  • Performs scheduled and ad hoc maintenance, updates, and upgrades per authorized service interruption schedules

  • Provides continuous patch management for designated infrastructure (workstations, servers) across all networks and security domains

  • Provides information and coordinates on approved Plan of Action and Milestones

  • Monitors and analyzes capacity, performance, and service‑level metrics to maintain optimal infrastructure utilization and prevent incidents

  • Participates in Continual Service Improvement (CSI) by researching new technologies and articulating evolutionary benefits to stakeholders

  • Uses Lab facilities to promote incident resolution and test the feasibility of new designs

  • Aids in the development of cases and scripts for Beta and Acceptance testing to ensure complete coverage prior to deployment

  • Supports implementation and transfer of engineered solutions through Blue/Green fielding

  • Collaborates with Engineering teams, Tier 3 specialists, and Government stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure system reliability and operability

  • Works with technical writers to develop and maintain SOPs and knowledge base artifacts

  • Aids in creating CDRL documentation, reports, and data

  • Applicable vendor, professional or OEM specific certification

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with Tier 3 and Engineering resources for advanced troubleshooting and work closely with technical writers and engineering peers

  • Willingness to learn new skills and new technologies.

  • Experience supporting mission environments with 24/7 operational requirements

  • Broad, working knowledge across multiple IT disciplines, including endpoint systems, storage arrays, platform administration, system patching, and enterprise monitoring tools
