Job summary

Blue Mantis is hiring an IT Operations Engineer to support multiple customers in the New York City area. The role focuses on server/cloud environments, networking, and robust operations across on-prem and cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Windows, Linux, and Unix, plus cloud (AWS/Azure/O365) and VMware, and will contribute to a secure, scalable enterprise network environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cisco Nexus/Arista/Meraki switches and Cisco Wireless Controllers.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, O365) and VMware virtualization.
• Backup/DR experience with Rubrik and Zerto; data protection focus.
• Familiarity with SolarWinds, DataDog and network monitoring tools.
• Scripting ability for automation and routine tasks.

Responsibilities

• Server Administration: Manage Windows, Linux and Unix environments.
• Cloud Operations: Administer AWS, Azure, O365 for workloads and containers.
• Virtualization: Configure VMware environments for performance and availability.
• System Monitoring: Ensure reliability with SolarWinds and DataDog.
• Incident Management: Lead resolution and meet SLAs; escalate as needed.
• Security Best Practices: Implement secure networking in on-prem and cloud.
• Documentation: Create topology maps and troubleshooting procedures.
