Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Network Engineer IV to lead the planning, design, installation, and implementation of our network infrastructure. You will install and maintain network devices, resolving complex issues with internal teams and vendors.

The role requires 10+ years in IT, a Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, and deep knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, firewall, and LAN/WAN. On-call duties and 50% onsite presence in New Jersey are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT related discipline or equivalent certification.
• Ten or more years of experience in IT related discipline.
• Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, firewall, and LAN/WAN technologies.
• Experience in design, installation and coordination of data networks and systems; troubleshooting network hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; demonstrated leadership and project management abilities.

The Network Engineer IV provides functional and empirical analysis related to the planning, design, installation, and implementation of the network infrastructure. Performs installation and maintenance of network devices including the restoration of hardware and software. Works with end users, Team Members, and vendors to resolve network hardware and software issues. May recommend, develop, and administer tools to achieve high availability and efficient utilization of LAN/WAN. Reviews progress and evaluates results. Performs work with a high degree of latitude. Handles the most complex issues. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, firewall policy, and optical transport systems including DWDM/ROADM technology. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate Team Members. May act as a 'lead' on specific projects or implementations.

This position will include an on-call requirement. At least 50% Onsite presence in New Jersey required.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Bachelor's level degree and/or equivalent certification in IT related discipline.
• Ten or more years of experience in IT related discipline.
• Technical expertise, including comprehensive and working knowledge of current and emerging networking technologies including but not limited to the TCP/IP network subject matters, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, firewall, and LAN/WAN technologies.
• Possesses working knowledge of routing, switching, wireless, VPN, firewall policy and optical transport systems including DWDM/ROADM technology.
• Design, installation and coordination of the installation of data networks and systems; maintenance and troubleshooting of network hardware, systems, software, and peripherals.
• Effective oral and written communication skills as well as analytical skills to effectively interact with coworkers and end-users to understand and communicate network issues and resolution.
• Demonstrated leadership and Project Management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Healthcare experience.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
