Job summary

Spacex is seeking an IT Network Administrator to join the IT Networking team. The role supports campus and data center networks for a high-tech environment involved in rocket design, manufacturing, and launches. Strong documentation, multitasking, and issue resolution are essential.

Preferred candidates have 3+ years in network administration, experience with Cisco/Juniper/Arista switches, and CCNA/CCNP or JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP certifications. On-site role; travel not required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional network administration experience.
• Experience with data-center class switches and wireless infrastructure.
• Ability to document work in a ticketing system and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Procure, configure, and install network hardware: switches, access points, UPS, and PDUs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
• Plan and coordinate network outage windows with stakeholders for software updates, hardware refreshes, and general network maintenance.
• Perform wireless surveys to determine coverage gaps and implement solutions.
• Configure and troubleshoot network access control (NAC) and other security features.
• Perform site walks with customers, vendors, and contractors to gather network requirements and create implementation plans.
• Build and maintain IDF rooms across campus in accordance with network standards.
• Monitor network health using in-house and third-party tools.
• Create and update network documentation.
• Manage network hardware inventory.

IT NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

the company is looking for a network administrator with experience in networking technologies that support routing, switching, VoIP, and Wi-Fi. This employee will be a member of the IT Networking team, which is responsible for maintaining a stable, reliable, and diverse network. This network supports the design, manufacturing, and launching of rockets, spacecraft, satellites, and human spaceflight. This position will support the campus and data center network, including live data center build environments, using reliable design standards. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator, able to document work in a ticketing system, excel at multi-tasking, resolve issues to prevent failures, and enjoy a fast-paced high-tech environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Procure, configure, and install network hardware: switches, access points, UPS, and PDUs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

• 3+ years of professional network administration experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Understanding of the OSI model and network standards.

• Cisco Catalyst, Juniper, and Arista data center-class switches.

• Cisco wireless LAN controllers or other wireless technologies.

• Wave Division Multiplexing and fiber optics.

• DNS, DHCP, SNMP, IP helpers, ARP, CDP, LLDP.

• Switch port security features.

• Network monitoring tools.

• Documentation and procedural installation.

• Linux/Windows system administration.

• Industry-standard certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIP.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This role requires you to be onsite. Hybrid or remote work will not be considered.

• Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 35 lbs. unassisted.
