Velos is seeking an IT Mission Project Engineer for their Wallops Range Contract, located at the Wallops Flight facility in Virginia. This full-time role involves overseeing IT projects, managing technical teams, and ensuring mission-critical IT systems are sustained.
The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of relevant experience and a BS in Computer Science, and must have a Secret clearance. Velos offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $120,000, based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

We are looking for highly qualified candidates to support our Wallops Range Contract. This full‑time position is located onsite at the Wallops Flight facility in Wallops Island, VA.
This position requires a 50%-50% split between IT PM and Data Services Center support. It involves project management of assigned information technology projects in support of mission/launch and/or facility requirements. Responsibilities include planning, design, testing, evaluation, cost analyses, program and project management, and quality/risk management for assigned projects. The incumbent serves as the alternate project management point of contact for all IT support required by programmatic and mission support, translating customer and mission requirements into functional requirements, and partnering with engineers to design, develop, and deploy hybrid, specialized IT solutions and services.
Additionally, the position provides project and administrative support for server (hardware and virtual), file, storage, and replication services to support the Range. It supports planning, coordinating, implementation, and sustainment of mission‑critical IT systems and infrastructure, oversees projects involving system design, development, deployment, and maintenance, and ensures solutions meet operational and business requirements. The role manages initiatives related to networks, telecommunications, LAN/WAN environments, system administration, database management, and enterprise IT services, coordinates technical teams and stakeholders, integrates security requirements into technology acquisitions and procurement activities, supports risk management initiatives, and acts as a liaison between leadership, mission partners, and technical personnel to maintain a secure IT environment.
