The IT Analyst will become a member of the specialist IT MES team involved in managing the deployment of Medtronic’s next-generation MES (Manufacturing Execution System) from Critical Manufacturing. This role is a key member of our Global Manufacturing Digital Transformation leadership team and is remote-based in Colombia.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  1. Monitor MES performance to ensure optimal operation and preempt potential issues.
  2. Resolve technical issues with MES to minimize downtime.
  3. Keep MES updated with latest software patches and bug fixes.
  4. Maintain the security and accuracy of production data within MES.
  5. Support integration of MES with other enterprise systems like ERP, SCADA, and PLCs.
  6. Provide user support, troubleshooting, and training for MES users.
  7. Optimize MES efficiency and performance.
  8. Configure and customize MES to meet specific manufacturing needs.
  9. Manage MES backups and execute disaster recovery plans.
  10. Ensure MES compliance with industry standards and assist in audits.
  11. Coordinate with vendors for updates, support, and customizations.
  12. Document MES configurations, changes, and performance reports.
  13. Participate in incident management and root cause analysis.
  14. Collaborate with production and operations teams to enhance MES support.
  15. Plan for MES scalability to support growth and new functionalities.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Fluent in English.
  • At least three years of experience managing manufacturing systems and implementing MES solutions.
  • Expertise with MES platforms such as Critical Manufacturing, SAP ME, Siemens Op-Centre, Rockwell FactoryTalk, or related.
  • Experience integrating MES with other business systems.
  • Proficiency with MES-related databases (SQL, Oracle).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to minimize system downtime.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity protocols relevant to manufacturing data.
  • Ability to coordinate with vendors for support and upgrades.
  • Monitoring and performance evaluation skills for MES.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations like FDA and ISO.
  • Capacity planning for MES scalability.
  • Excellent collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
