IT Managing Director, Risk Advisory Services

Job Overview

Under the authority of a Partner, the Assurance Managing Director, Risk Advisory Services, manages and delivers high-value solutions to multiple clients across various industry groups. Responsibilities include overseeing risk advisory services related to Information Technology (IT), such as Internal Audit, Sarbanes-Oxley, System Development Lifecycle, Cyber-Security, Business Resumption/Disaster Recovery, IT General Controls, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and Data Governance.

The role involves managing all engagement phases—from planning to report writing—while providing strategic recommendations. It also includes leading a team of professionals, developing new business (~$1 million annually), and supporting practice leadership in client pursuits and practice administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee documentation and testing of application controls across software packages.
  • Serve as a primary client contact for progress updates, challenges, and issues.
  • Facilitate meetings with client management and communicate control gaps and process improvements.
  • Ensure high-quality client service and deliverables.
  • Develop risk-based audit plans and ensure project efficiency.
  • Manage engagement budgets, billings, collections, and realization adjustments.
  • Lead client engagements, ensuring engagement metrics are met.
  • Build and maintain strategic client relationships.
  • Assist in business development and proposal development.
  • Manage practice administration tasks such as time entry, contracts, and collections.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise IT Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates.
  • Evaluate performance and mentor team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in risk assessments, internal audits, SOX, or consulting, with supervisory experience.
  • Certifications such as CIA, CPA, CFE, or CISA required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power BI, and audit tools.
  • Strong communication, project management, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
