Job description

We are currently seeking a full-time IT Manager (Systems Administration) to lead the IT systems administration function at ES and supervise a small team of junior staff members.

They will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining the corporate network, telephony, and software platforms. The IT Manager will demonstrate leadership and supervise junior staff, delegating tasks while maintaining responsibility for their completion. This role is a working manager position, requiring hands-on resolution of support tickets and backup support when staff are unavailable.

This is a hybrid work opportunity, requiring onsite presence at one of our offices (Oakland, CA; Portland, OR; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA) at least 1 day/week, with flexibility for other days. Currently, we are not accepting applications from residents of Alaska, Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wyoming.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Lead the IT System Administrators to ensure high-quality maintenance of software and networks across a hybrid workforce.
  2. Partner with other IT management to develop and improve IT processes and best practices.
  3. Ensure firmware and software are regularly patched on Windows and Mac systems.
  4. Maintain and secure corporate networks, telephony, alarm systems, and cameras.
  5. Lead development of the company’s cloud infrastructure in MS Azure.
  6. Follow IT support best practices within the team.
  7. Collaborate to mitigate and resolve problems.
  8. Author processes and documentation.
  9. Develop staff to grow in IT careers.
  10. Partner with IT Security to provide solutions adhering to SOC 2 + NIST standards.
  11. Report on project progress, trends, and issues.
  12. Perform other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  2. 8 years of related experience in IT systems administration.
  3. Experience with network implementation and maintenance.
  4. Experience configuring various software systems.
  5. Proven leadership in IT projects.
  6. Certification or knowledge in MS Azure desktop VMs, SharePoint, Exchange Online.
  7. Familiarity with systems like Datto RMM, Tableau, Slack, Zoom, InTune, Alarm.com.
  8. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  9. Advanced knowledge of Windows, Mac OS, and networking troubleshooting.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation:

Salary range of $105k - $130k annually, commensurate with experience, including a retirement plan, health benefits, pre-tax plans, and an ESOP.
