IT Manager - Manufacturing Store Operations
Position Summary

The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing all technology systems, infrastructure, and support functions required to operate a manufacturing store efficiently, securely, and reliably. This role serves as the primary technology leader for the facility, ensuring that production systems, inventory management platforms, shop floor technologies, network infrastructure, and end-user computing environments support business objectives. The IT Manager partners closely with operations, production, engineering, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams to optimize manufacturing processes through technology.

Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Systems Management
  • Manage and maintain manufacturing-related applications, including ERP, MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), inventory management, and production tracking systems.
  • Ensure system availability and performance to support manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate upgrades, patches, and enhancements to manufacturing technologies.
  • Support barcode scanning, RFID, data collection, and shop floor automation solutions.
Infrastructure and Network Administration
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, servers, storage systems, and telecommunications.
  • Ensure reliable connectivity between production equipment, business systems, and corporate networks.
  • Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address infrastructure issues.
Cybersecurity and Compliance
  • Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Protect manufacturing systems from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability management activities.
  • Maintain compliance with company, industry, and regulatory requirements.
Operational Technology (OT) Support
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support PLCs, SCADA systems, machine interfaces, and industrial control systems.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting efforts for technology impacting production equipment.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives and industrial automation projects.
Team Leadership and Service Delivery
  • Lead and mentor IT support staff and external vendors.
  • Establish service level expectations and monitor support performance.
  • Manage IT help desk activities and provide escalation support for critical issues.
  • Promote a customer-focused IT service culture across the facility.
Project Management
  • Lead technology projects from planning through implementation.
  • Develop project budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency and business performance.
Vendor and Asset Management
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
  • Oversee IT procurement, licensing, contracts, and support agreements.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of hardware, software, and network assets.
  • Monitor IT spending and ensure alignment with budget objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • 3+ years supporting manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with ERP systems, manufacturing software, and industrial technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, server administration, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience managing IT projects and technology vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of MES, SCADA, PLC, and Industrial IoT technologies.
  • ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or related certifications.
  • Experience with business intelligence and manufacturing analytics platforms.
