Job summary

The Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking an IT Professional responsible for maintaining and supervising the company’s computer systems and network within defined requirements, costs and timelines.

Responsibilities include managing IT operations, evaluating data processes, designing policies, and ensuring security and disaster readiness to support organizational needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in information technology management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and client/server technology.
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage information technology and computer systems and software’s
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
  • Develop innovative network troubleshooting methods that reduce downtime and lower repair costs
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures
  • Create and administer disaster plans that will keep the company functional in the event of a crisis
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions
  • Audit systems and assess outcomes
  • Work with management to determine the maintenance and growth needs of the network
  • Determine methods for upgrading company network software programs each time an update is released
  • Monitor changing network technology and communicate opportunities with upper management, and update as approved

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

Purpose

The IT Professional will be responsible and accountable for the computer systems and network within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. They will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our company’s computing needs, have proven professional experience and a detailed knowledge of industry’s best practice processes.

Preferred but not required
  • Proven working experience as an IT Professional or relevant experience
  • 5+ years' experience in information technology management
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Hands‑on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance
