Description

Gensler's Denver office is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead local technology operations, deliver high-quality hands-on support, and serve as a trusted technology partner to office leadership. Working with the Regional IT Director, this role translates regional and firmwide priorities into effective local IT service delivery.

You will balance hands-on technical support with responsibility for local projects, service priorities, and resource coordination across IT teams.

The IT Manager will translate regional and firmwide IT objectives into clear local priorities, project plans, and support strategies. You will communicate expectations and progress, monitor implementation, and help ensure consistent understanding and application of Gensler technology standards, policies, and procedures.

This people-focused leadership role requires managing office expectations, guiding projects through completion, tracking timelines, and mentoring IT team members as appropriate. As the primary liaison between the Denver office and broader IT operations, you will align local needs with regional and firmwide priorities.

Daily responsibilities include local support for messaging, network connectivity, servers, workstations, and audiovisual meeting technology. Occasional support outside regular business hours may be required for office events, special projects, system upgrades, or outages.

This is an opportunity to shape the technology experience of a growing, design-focused office. The role offers meaningful ownership, visibility with office leadership, and a direct impact on how employees collaborate, create, and deliver their work.

The strongest candidate can move confidently between urgent end-user support, advising office leadership, coordination with specialized IT teams, and oversight of longer-term projects and operational priorities.

What You Will Do
  • Partner with employees at all levels, including office leadership and Principals, to understand technology needs and provide responsive support.
  • Resolve technology issues efficiently and thoughtfully to minimize downtime and maintain a strong employee experience.
  • Support consistent use of company IT policies, procedures, and standards across the office.
  • Assess employees' technology skill levels and provide tailored, hands-on support.
  • Maintain attention to detail, service quality, and follow-through while managing day-to-day demands. Local IT Support
  • Serve as the primary local IT support resource for employees using primarily Windows-based computers.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and related collaboration tools.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and other technology in the Denver office.
  • Provide local support for MDF and IDF equipment in coordination with firmwide server and networking teams.
  • Support core design and production software, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other graphics or rendering applications.
  • Install, configure, and support specialized departmental software and provide hands-on end-user assistance.
  • Support meeting room audiovisual and video conferencing systems, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, displays, cameras, microphones, and related room technology.
  • Administer authorized user-account and access-control tasks within Microsoft Active Directory, escalating as appropriate.
  • Manage Windows and Mac endpoints through deployment, maintenance, refresh, and retirement, including new-hire and replacement equipment.
  • Coordinate IT onboarding by preparing and deploying hardware, software, accounts, peripherals, and access, and delivering IT orientation to new employees.
  • Support company-managed and employee mobile devices, including iOS and Android phones and tablets.
  • Support remote users with VPN, MFA, and virtual desktop infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot local LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, and network connectivity issues, escalating infrastructure issues to regional or firmwide IT teams as appropriate.
  • Support local implementation of firmwide IT security initiatives and standards, including controls for account access, endpoints, MFA, and mobile device management. Service Desk Leadership
  • Own the local service desk queue, prioritize requests, and ensure timely, user-focused resolution.
  • Review incidents that exceed service levels and esc alate issues as appropriate.
  • Review service desk activity, identify emerging trends, and provide monthly performance updates.
  • Monitor end-user satisfaction and meet regularly with office and studio leadership to understand needs and address trends.
  • Maintain accurate incident resolution records and create support documentation for configurations, installations, and recurring processes.
  • Lead, coach, and support other Gensler IT support team members through ongoing professional development, as assigned.
  • Participate in recurring meetings with office leadership, regional IT, and firmwide IT partners.
  • Manage local IT hardware throughout its lifecycle, including procurement, imaging, deployment, inventory, maintenance, refresh, reassignment, and retirement.
