The Digital Technology Services (DTS) Lead Data Analyst is responsible for translating and programming large volumes of data into understandable, relevant, and actionable insights. You will interface with business units (finance, HR, etc.) across the Hackensack Meridian Health network, providing business insights, designing and delivering reports, and promoting self-service reporting capabilities. A key aspect of this role involves developing and maintaining effective data governance to ensure data accuracy and trustworthiness.

This position is remote and requires quarterly travel to our Edison, NJ location.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, understand, acquire, merge, and transform data from the data warehouse.
  • Partner with business units to understand operational needs, recommend solutions, and ensure compliance.
  • Translate business data needs and collaborate with data engineers or architects to automate data delivery, reducing redundancy.
  • Participate in data governance initiatives, including documentation and maintenance.
  • Develop auditing and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop, test, and deliver reports and data extracts using BI tools.
  • Continuously seek improvements in technical solutions and challenge the status quo.
  • Mentor and coach team members.
  • Engage in coding to develop solutions and resolve issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to organizational standards and behaviors.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-7 years of experience in a Business or Data Analyst role.
  • Skills in SQL and BI tools (Looker, PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
  • Healthcare system knowledge.
  • Experience with unstructured datasets.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn.
Preferred:
  • Master's or PhD in related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in a data analyst role.
