Job summary

AdvanSix in Parsippany, NJ, is seeking an Internal Auditor to lead and execute risk-based audits, SOX testing, and advisory projects, strengthening governance and internal controls across finance, operations, IT, and compliance.

The role uses data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL) to identify trends and automate testing, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and coaches junior staff while supporting the SOX and ERM PMO programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in internal audit, external audit, public accounting, SOX compliance, or related field.
• Experience leading audit engagements and strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Copilot).

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute risk-based audits, planning, walkthroughs, testing, reporting, and follow-up.
• Perform and review SOX control testing and reliance testing in support of external auditors.
• Evaluate governance, risk management, and internal controls across financial, operational, compliance, and IT processes.
• Prepare and review workpapers in line with Internal Audit standards.
• Identify control gaps and drive remediation and process improvements.
