Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is hiring an IT Intern for Summer 2027 at the International Falls, MN Paper Mill. The intern will support the help desk, assist with computer setup and deployment, and help document network diagrams and issues.

Qualified candidates are pursuing a 4-year CS degree, hold a valid driver’s license, and are authorized to work in the U.S. The role includes basic IT duties with potential for learning across hardware, software, and network components.

Responsibilities

• Assist with help desk tasks: basic end-user support and IT issue resolution.
• Assist with building and deploying computers: set up new devices and sanitize old ones.
• Assist with network documentation: label taps and create drawings.
• Document issues and fixes as they arise.
• Inventory and document IT equipment; handle light lifting and transport.

We are seeking applicants for our IT Intern positions (Summer 2027) in our International Falls, MN Paper Mill. The International Falls facility is a White Paper Mill owned by Packaging Corporation of America.

Principle Accountabilities

• Assist with help desk tasks: basic end-user support, deal with any Information Technology related issues - hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and network.
• Assist with building and deploying computers - Prepare computers, including setting up new computers, clearing data off previously used computers and preparing them for use by another user.
• Assist with network documentation - labeling physical network taps and create drawing and documentation.
• Assist in documenting issues and fixes.
• Inventory and document IT equipment.
• Lifting and transporting of equipment of various weight.
• Clean workstations of malicious software, such as viruses, spyware, etc.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications

• Junior or Senior working towards a 4-year degree in Computer Science.
• Must have a current valid driver's license.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation And Benefits

• Starting salary range for position: $29.00 to $30.00 Hourly.
• Paid Holidays.
