Thea Energy is seeking an IT Intern to join our IT team. You will gain hands-on experience in day-to-day IT operations, troubleshoot hardware and software, and support internal projects in a fast‑moving environment.

Ideal candidates are currently pursuing or recently graduated in CS/IT, with basic Windows/macOS familiarity, network basics, and strong problem solving and communication skills. This is a great entry point into IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in CS/IT/cybersecurity or related field.
• Basic understanding of Windows 10/11, macOS and core networking concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Help Desk Support: assist with triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of hardware, software, and network issues for local and remote employees.
• Device Management: configure, deploy, and maintain laptops, workstations, printers, and other devices.
• Software & Account Setup: onboard/offboard users and set up accounts in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Active Directory, or internal tools.
• Documentation: create and update IT guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting docs for employees.
• Inventory Tracking: maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software licenses and peripherals.
• Project Assistance: support upcoming IT infrastructure projects (e.g., migrations, network upgrades, security audits).

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated, tech-savvy IT Intern to join our IT team. In this role, you will get hands‑on experience dealing with day‑to‑day IT operations, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with internal projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a current student or recent graduate looking to jumpstart their career in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Help Desk Support: Assist with initial triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of hardware, software, and network issues for local and remote employees.
• Device Management: Help configure, deploy, and maintain company laptops, workstations, printers, etc.
• Software & Account Setup: Assist with user onboarding and offboarding, including setting up accounts in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Active Directory, or other internal tools.
• Documentation: Create and update internal IT guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting documentation for employees.
• Inventory Tracking: Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software licenses, and peripheral equipment.
• Project Assistance: Provide support on upcoming IT infrastructure projects (e.g., system migrations, network upgrades, or security audits).

Ideal Experience & Skillsets

• Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of desktop operating systems (Windows 10/11, macOS) and core networking concepts (IP addressing, Wi‑Fi troubleshooting, DNS).
• Problem‑Solving Skills: A logical approach to troubleshooting and a strong desire to figure out how things work.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical fixes to non‑technical users in a friendly, patient manner.
• Reliability: Ability to handle sensitive company data with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Company Benefits

• Salary range $20/hour

Requirements

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.
