True North Consultants in Chicago is seeking an Integrations Developer with strong backend expertise to design and implement enterprise integration solutions. You will work across CRM, ERP, POS, and web applications, building reliable interfaces between systems.
The role emphasizes APIs, system programming, and data integrity in a high‑volume enterprise environment, with collaboration across cross‑functional teams and on‑call rotation.
We are seeking an experienced Integrations Developer to join an established enterprise applications team responsible for connecting critical systems across a large, complex business environment.
This is a hands‑on development role with a strong emphasis on backend engineering, enterprise integrations, APIs, system programming, and data integrity. The team supports integrations across a broad application ecosystem that includes CRM, ERP, point‑of‑sale, web‑based applications, third‑party platforms, and other business‑critical systems.
The ideal candidate is an experienced software developer who enjoys working at the intersection of applications and systems—understanding how different platforms communicate, designing reliable interfaces between them, troubleshooting complex integration issues, and building solutions that can operate reliably in a high‑volume enterprise environment.
While experience across the full development stack is valuable, this position is heavily weighted toward backend development and system integration rather than front‑end/UI development.
Candidates do not need to possess every technology listed above. Depth in backend development, APIs, enterprise integrations, and the ability to work across interconnected systems will be more important than matching every tool or framework.
This is an opportunity to join an established enterprise technology organization supporting systems that are critical to day‑to‑day business operations.
The Integrations team works across multiple applications and business functions simultaneously, so the environment is best suited for someone who is comfortable solving complex problems, collaborating across teams, and taking ownership of technical solutions rather than working within a narrowly defined development silo.
The organization continues to modernize its technology environment, providing opportunities to work with contemporary development, containerization, deployment, and integration technologies while also solving the practical challenges that come with connecting large‑scale enterprise systems.
This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to be based in the Chicago area and able to work from the company's downtown Chicago or northern Chicago suburban office as required.
Candidates should already be local to the market rather than planning a future relocation.
Occasional travel may be required, generally less than 5%.
This role offers an experienced backend developer the opportunity to work beyond a single application or product. You'll have exposure to a broad enterprise technology ecosystem and solve integration challenges involving applications, APIs, databases, and business‑critical systems.
It's particularly well suited for someone who enjoys understanding how systems fit together, likes solving difficult backend problems, and wants to play a meaningful role in the continued modernization of a large enterprise technology environment.
