Join our Enterprise Monitoring team as an Elasticsearch Engineer, where you will design, implement, and optimize observability solutions that support real-time monitoring, performance, and security across APS enterprise systems.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the installation, configuration, and support of Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats) across both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to build scalable monitoring and SIEM solutions supporting business-critical applications.
  • Design and enhance dashboards, alerting pipelines, and ingestion workflows using tools like Logstash, Kafka, Cribl, and Elastic Agents.
  • Support automation and containerized deployments using Docker, Podman, Ansible, and GitLab.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure system availability and performance.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies (compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, COTS, open-source solutions, virtual and cloud including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS); infrastructure management and monitoring tools; solution sizing; security requirements and designs.
  • Troubleshooting skills; experience with hardware/software repair; advanced server design, maintenance, and repair; creative problem-solving; configuration management.
  • Ability to develop and write technical documentation; evaluate and test emerging technologies.
  • 7+ years of IT experience focusing on infrastructure monitoring or observability tools.
  • Expertise in Elastic Stack, including Elastic Cloud Enterprise and managing clusters in production.
  • Experience with automation, containerization, and system integration tools.
  • Strong understanding of log management, data pipelines, and dashboard development.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions in a dynamic team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.

Major Accountabilities

1) Under general direction, responsible for maintaining installed infrastructure technologies and their installation and configuration within specific areas.
2) Participate in business requirements meetings.
3) Collaborate with technical architects to translate designs into operations.
4) Develop plans for support package/patch application.
5) Administer hardware and software upgrades.
6) Provide higher-level support to help desk staff.
7) Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation per security standards.
8) Manage systems infrastructure and network appliances.
9) Support multiple systems or applications of moderate to high complexity.
10) Provide advice to less experienced infrastructure engineers or small teams.
11) May manage projects, delegating work and reviewing work products.

Home Based: Employees primarily work from home and come into an APS facility as needed. Reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners employees). Adequate technology and ergonomic setup are required. Role types may change based on business needs.
