Taft is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to support our Information Technology group in Taft’s Cincinnati, Columbus or Indianapolis office. All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy—in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Administration, configuration, and maintenance of the firm's Windows and Azure environments, ensuring security and best practices for Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other critical services.
  2. Management of the firm's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, cloud, networking, and environmental systems, following security and operational best practices.
  3. Support datacenter networking and equipment setup and maintenance.
  4. Implement and support data protection policies using technologies like Cohesity, Veeam, and storage replication solutions.
  5. Monitor IT equipment, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents to prevent outages and data loss.
  6. Apply patches, firmware updates, and OS upgrades following security protocols.
  7. Administer remote access technologies and secure external connections, including multifactor authentication.
  8. Assist with physical network hardware installation and configuration.
  9. Support application installation and updates, ensuring security and best practices.
  10. Proactively identify system resource issues and plan for capacity growth.
  11. Participate in large-scale IT infrastructure projects, including storage, servers, virtualization, disaster recovery, and security.
  12. Document all design, deployment, and maintenance activities.
  13. Complete scheduled operational tasks accurately and on time.
  14. Follow IT department standards and security policies, including change control and maintenance windows.
  15. Assist with hardware decommissioning and data wiping for e-waste recycling.
  16. Provide escalation support and adhere to ticketing SLAs.
  17. Follow ITIL disciplines and processes, including incident, change, and problem management.
  18. Stay updated on relevant technology trends through seminars, reading, and professional participation.
Requirements

  3. Physical ability to lift 75 lbs and willingness to travel and work on-site as needed.
  4. Strong communication skills for reporting and documentation.
  5. Availability for after-hours work and on-call rotations.
Education and Experience
  1. Relevant education, training, or IT certifications.
  2. Experience with Microsoft Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, and ADFS.
  3. Hardware maintenance experience from vendors like Dell, Cisco, HP.
  4. Experience with storage technologies such as Pure, Dell/EMC, Isilon, cloud storage like Wasabi and Azure.
  5. Minimum 5 years supporting IT infrastructure services.
  6. Experience with Exchange, VMware, and Isilon preferred.
  7. Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, Cisco switches, and wireless management.
  8. Familiarity with data protection platforms like Cohesity and Veeam.
  9. Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Cisco are desirable.
  10. Bachelor's degree required; Law Firm experience preferred.
