Overview

IT Implementation Engineer/Network infrastructure implementation Project Coordinator – Remote (Hybrid if local to Newport News, VA). Our Client, a leading U.S. distributor of plumbing, HVAC, waterworks, and industrial products with over 1,400 locations nationwide, is looking for an IT Implementation Engineer/Network infrastructure implementation Project Coordinator to join their team.

You’ll play a key role in a major Network Refresh Project, helping upgrade and remediate networking infrastructure across dozens of locations. This is a high-impact role where you’ll coordinate projects from start to finish, work closely with vendors, and make sure every site is ready to go.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate and oversee networking infrastructure remediation for multiple sites
• Manage 50–100 projects at a time, each with unique scope and needs
• Collaborate with vendors, engineers, and internal teams to ensure smooth installation of hardware and cabling
• Assess site survey results to determine hardware requirements (switches, routers, UPS, access points)
• Approve quotes, request POs, and track project progress in tools like ServiceNow and SharePoint
• Verify that installations meet TIA/EIA, BICSI, and OSHA standards
• Follow up on issues until they’re resolved and ensure accurate documentation

What You Bring

• 2+ years’ experience with networking hardware and wireless/data technologies
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Power BI)
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or other project/task management tools
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels and manage vendor relationships
• Knowledge of network backbone components (CAT-6, fiber optics) and national installation standards
