Job summary

A leading construction company in Foster City is seeking an IT Helpdesk Engineer to coordinate technology support. Job description

ROLE

ROLE : The IT Helpdesk Engineer will serve as a critical hub for end-users to access information and support in all areas of technology. Working closely with the IT Manager, this position shall act as SME and primary user of the company’s IT ticketing system to track all technology incidents and requests. This role will be based in the Foster City office.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage help desk ticket queue (incidents and requested items), adhering to the department’s Service Level Agreements.
  • Provide onsite and remote desktop support for end users (phone, chat, IM, Microsoft Teams, remote desktop software).
  • To be able to support 24x7 on a required basis.
  • Create and maintain end-user self-help Knowledge Base articles.
  • Onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Educate end users by walking them through problem-solving processes, so that they can resolve problems on their own in the future.
  • Set up laptops, desktop computers, software, mobile devices, and computer peripherals for users.
  • Network Infrastructure maintenance (Upgrade, troubleshoot, and support for LAN/WAN devices).
  • Maintain best practices and procedures for patch management, malware mitigation, security principles, and operating system upgrade.
  • Manage IT Assets in the Asset Management System
  • Manage the entire IT assets lifecycle from onboarding, offboarding, and recycling.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
  • A college degree in Information Science or Information Technology is required.
  • Industry certifications in Microsoft 365 or Azure are preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in the following areas:
    • Supporting at least 50 local and remote users through the Help Desk position
    • Knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Admin Center user management.
    • Deploying, supporting, and administering Windows operating systems, iOS, Office 365, mobile devices, cloud-based apps, and standard mainstream desktop software, with a focus on end-user support.
    • Managing user accounts with cloud technologies, including Microsoft Office 365, Azure, SSO, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, and Exchange Online, among others.
    • Working knowledge of: WAN, LAN, DNS, mail routing protocols, TCP/IP layers, and VPN.
    • Windows operating systems 2012 and later, Windows 10, Windows 11, and iOS.
    • Cloud-based storage, storage networks, and file systems.

ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE

$90,000 - $120,000 USD/ YEAR
