Job Summary

As an IT Help Desk Technician, you will be the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance. Your responsibilities include responding to inquiries, diagnosing and resolving hardware/software issues, and documenting support requests. This role involves remote support and on-site visits for issues that cannot be resolved remotely.

Essential Functions
  1. Customer Service: Provide friendly, efficient support via phone, email, and chat. Keep users updated and provide on-site support when needed.
  2. Technical Troubleshooting: Use ticketing systems to resolve issues, document interactions, and create knowledge base articles. Aim to meet KPIs with minimal repeat incidents.
  3. Proficiency & Learning: Handle Tier 1 incidents, progress to Tier 2, adhere to schedules, participate in projects, and maintain documentation.
  4. Ownership & Support: Maintain technical documentation, manage inventory, escalate complex issues, and ensure proper hand-offs.
  5. Project Support & Innovation: Support IT projects, follow security protocols, monitor vulnerabilities, and suggest improvements.
  6. Resourcefulness: Serve as a local resource for automation and infrastructure issues, ensuring operational continuity.
Requirements, Education, and Experience
  • 1-5 years experience in Helpdesk or MSP/IT Support roles; support ticketing and remote tools experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of diagnosing hardware/software issues, Windows environments, Apple/Android devices, and Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, flexibility, and IT literacy.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSE, ITIL, CompTIA+ are a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and authorized to work in the U.S.
Additional Information

Position involves travel across NY/CT, requiring reliable transportation. Some work from home flexibility may be available. The role operates in office and construction environments, requiring physical activities like walking, standing, and equipment setup.
