Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is seeking an IT Support Technician for the Information Technology Services department. The role provides elevated technical support for employees, students, and campus events, troubleshoots Windows and macOS, supports enterprise systems, and contributes to upgrades and projects.

The position is on-site with a 45-hour week and a shift schedule Tue-Thu 11:00–8:00, Fri 12:00–6:00, Sat 9:00–4:00, reporting to the Strategic Services Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience providing customer services in IT support, Help Desk, or related role.
• Experience with Windows and/or macOS and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and resolves escalated complex technical problems for various products and services.
• Responds to inquiries and provides technical information per policies and procedures.
• Documents inquiries and responses and suggests improvements to procedures.
• Develops operational procedures to improve customer satisfaction and efficiency.
• Trains staff on procedures to ensure policy adherence.
