Job summary

Army Recruiting Ohio is seeking an information technology specialist to maintain, troubleshoot, and support military computer systems. This entry-level role requires enlistment and includes comprehensive training through Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training.

You will maintain networks, hardware, and software, provide customer and network administration services, and participate in developing and testing computer programs.

Job description

This is a job skill that is performed in the US Army or Army Reserves as a Soldier. Enlisting is required and will undergo pre-qualifying questions, an interview, an academic test, and a physical. This is an initial entry job skill, no experience necessary. The US Army will send you to school to learn the job and get the necessary certifications.

Overview:

Information technology specialists are responsible for maintaining, processing, and troubleshooting military computer systems/operations.

Job Duties:
  • Maintenance of networks, hardware, and software.
  • Provide customer and network administration services.
  • Construct, edit, and test computer programs.
Requirements:

Those who want to serve must first take a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you. Ages 17-34; 35-39 Requires a Waiver.

Training:

Job training for an information technology specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 20 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction.
