Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is seeking a Sustainment Manager to join our team in support of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Falconer Program. The team is primarily located at the USAF customer site on Langley AFB in Hampton, VA, and reports to the Fielding, Logistics, & Site Support Team (FLSST) IPT Lead. The selected individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the procurement, sustainment, and distribution of software and warranty support responsible for the operation of the system-of-systems that make up the AOC WS. This is a hybrid remote position with the potential for travel (primarily to Langley AFB) up to 5% of the time.

This position requires a demonstrated/thorough understanding and application of software administration, warranty support administration, configuration management principles and processes, mission planning/scheduling, and experience in the sustainment of an existing software/hardware baseline, to include managing the procurement of new capabilities when identified by the customer. The successful candidate must be effective at interpersonal interaction with customers (military, government civil service, and contractors) to respond to requests for information and support for technical meetings, procurement discussions, and mission planning meetings. The candidate must be able to work independently and represent the program and SAIC at meetings and working groups with government and associate contractors.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Falconer Procurement Manager with the following:

  • Sustainment, management, and distribution support of the installed AOC software baseline.
  • Sustainment and management of warranty support for the physical hardware installed on the AOC baseline.
  • Oversee support of software/hardware systems throughout its lifecycle, to include strategies to mitigate End of Life (EoL), End of Support (EoS), and End of Maintenance (EoM) of baseline software/hardware.
  • Manage renewal schedule of existing baseline software/hardware support, to include co-term initiatives.
  • Manage input to the AOC SPO Fiscal Year procurement planning efforts related to software (new/existing), hardware support (new/existing), and EoL/EoS requirements.
  • Produce procurement request packages and ensuring adherence to DoD procurement and compliance practices (Trade Agreements Act, Approved Products Lists, DoD Enterprise Software/Hardware Agreements).
  • Liaise with AOC Configuration Management (CM) personnel in support of Request for Variance (RFV) efforts, as required.
  • Work with external key players (Original Manufacturers and/or Vendors) to understand terms of service, terms of support, terms of maintenance.
  • Track lessons learned and metrics and share with other members of the team.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
