DataStaff, Inc is seeking an IT Governance Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with a direct client in Richmond, VA.
*This position is hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and guidance in developing and interpreting policy, legislative, and regulatory proposals for the IT Division (ITD).
- Provide legal/regulatory analysis for ITD staff and act as liaison to the Office of the Attorney General to coordinate procurement claims and support leadership with legislative analysis during General Assembly sessions.
- Develop and interpret policy, legislative, and regulatory proposals related to procurement and General Assembly activities.
- Analyze procurement-related legislation for ITD leadership.
- Serve as ITD lead during legislative sessions of the General Assembly.
- Analyze impacts and provide status reports to operational areas as needed.
- Coordinate legislative briefings and debarment actions with Governance and Procurement Program Managers and the Office of the Attorney General.
- Act as liaison to the Attorney General's Office to resolve legal issues.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Knowledge of Virginia procurement practices and requirements.
- Ability to negotiate, mediate, settle disputes diplomatically, and handle difficult situations.
- Excellent written and oral communication, presentation skills, and ability to simplify technical terms; experience collaborating with diverse personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze complex financial and legislative data, draw logical conclusions, and generate reports.
- Knowledge of the Virginia Public Procurement Act.
- Training, experience, or education in Law, Paralegal Studies, Business Management, Public Management, Public Policy, or related fields is desired.
- Experience in a state or local agency is preferred.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of knowledge of Virginia procurement practices.
- 4+ years of training, experience, or education in Law, Paralegal Studies, Business Management, Public Management, Public Policy, or related fields.
- 5+ years of negotiation, dispute resolution, and diplomatic handling of difficult situations.
- 5+ years of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- 5+ years of analyzing complex financial or legislative data and generating reports.
Desired Skills:
- 2+ years of knowledge of Virginia's Information Technology laws and regulations.
This opportunity is available as a corp-to-corp or W2 position with benefits, including medical, dental, vision, paid leave, and a 401(k) plan after 6 months.
