Job summary

RREMC Restaurants seeks a field-based technician to install, calibrate, test, and maintain equipment across a regional territory. You will travel extensively through Florida, Georgia, and Virginia, servicing customer sites and providing technical guidance. A hands-on mechanical/electrical background and strong problem-solving skills are essential for success.

You will communicate clearly with customers and internal teams, document work, and ensure safety standards are followed on every job.

Job description

What You'll Do
  • Install and set up new equipment and systems at field locations.
  • Configure, calibrate, test, and verify equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and scheduled service.
  • Clean, adjust, maintain, and replace worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, equipment, and system-related issues.
  • Complete repairs efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Identify the root cause of equipment failures and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Serve as a professional on-site representative of the company.
  • Communicate with customers regarding equipment issues, repairs, maintenance, and proper operation.
  • Provide customers with technical guidance and basic equipment training when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, parts used, equipment performance, and customer interactions.
  • Complete and manage work orders electronically or on paper as required.
  • Communicate technical issues, repair status, and field observations to supervisors and other internal teams.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable industry safety standards.
  • Conduct hazard assessments and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Utilize proper cable-management practices to ensure professional installations and simplify future troubleshooting.
  • Quote services, replacement parts, or additional work in the field when appropriate.
  • Participate in company training and stay current on equipment, technology, and industry standards.
Travel & Territory

This is primarily a field-based regional position and requires significant travel.

  • Approximately 85% field-based
  • Approximately 15% based in the West Palm Beach office
  • Territory includes Florida, Georgia, and Virginia
  • Regular travel to customer and company locations throughout the assigned territory
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules, locations, and field conditions is essential

Candidates should be comfortable spending the majority of their working time outside of a traditional office environment.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

The position may require the ability to:

  • Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights of 20 feet or more.
  • Stand, walk, kneel, bend, crawl, and reach for extended periods.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and controls.
  • Work safely in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Work in varying temperatures and weather conditions, including hot and cold environments.
  • Maintain visual ability necessary for close-up technical work, distance viewing, and focusing on equipment and components.
  • Maintain a clean work area and properly clean the site following completion of work.
