Job summary

VEG is seeking a field-based IT support professional to keep our SoCal hospital network running smoothly. You’ll troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues and help set up new hospitals for success, with frequent travel across Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Torrance, and San Diego.

You’ll work with hospital leaders and VEG IT teams to keep systems secure and reliable, mentor junior technicians, and adapt to a fast-growing 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of technical help desk or IT support experience in a hospital environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Apple products and macOS; network experience is a plus.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to partner with IT teams, leaders, vendors.

• Partner with IT teams, senior leadership, and regional leaders to understand hospital needs and resolve escalations.
• Align stakeholders, prioritize work, and ensure strong regional execution.
• Represent IT with a service-first mindset when supporting VEGgies and hospital teams.
• Coordinate operational measures to support secure, reliable data, software, hardware, and infrastructure.
• Review project plans, finalize technology specifications, and support upgrades and new hospital openings.

THE JOB

We're looking for someone who brings technical know-how, a service-first mindset, and the flexibility to support a fast-growing, 24/7 hospital network. In this role, you'll be on the frontlines of support, making sure our hospitals have the reliable hardware, software, and network functionality they need to run smoothly—while also helping set new hospitals up for success. You'll grow where you want to go by troubleshooting complex challenges, implementing smart solutions, and partnering closely with hospital and IT leaders to drive IT excellence across VEG.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Partner with IT teams, senior leadership, and hospital and regional leaders to understand hospital needs, resolve escalations, and keep operations running smoothly.
• Support departmental and business initiatives by aligning stakeholders, prioritizing work, and helping ensure strong execution across your region.
• Represent IT with professionalism, care, and a service-first mindset when supporting VEGgies, customers, and hospital teams.
• Help protect VEG systems by coordinating and implementing operational measures that support secure, reliable data, software, hardware, and infrastructure.
• Work with local teams to review project plans, finalize technology specifications, and support infrastructure projects, hospital upgrades, and new hospital openings.
• Recommend and implement streamlined hospital technology, best practices, and continuous IT improvements, while helping hire Field Service resources as needed to maintain exceptional support.

WHAT YOU NEED

• 1–2 years of technical help desk or IT support experience, with the ability to apply general technology processes, tools, and best practices in a hospital environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Apple products and macOS, with network experience, construction-related industry experience, or hospital buildout support as a plus.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to partner confidently with VEGgies, IT teams, hospital leaders, vendors, and other partners inside and outside the organization.
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects, adapt to shifting priorities, and stay flexible when timelines change.
• A self-starter mindset: dependable, eager to learn new technology quickly, comfortable working independently, and collaborative in a team environment.
• Ability to mentor or coach future team members as needed, while also being able to physically move, handle, and lift computer equipment up to 50 pounds.
