Requirements:
- Candidates must possess a College Degree.
- Training and Certification would be an advantage.
Certifications in hardware and various technical areas are preferred, including:
- Hardware Certification on Various Hardware platforms
- Strong understanding of Windows/Unix fundamentals
- AIX - IBM Certified System Expert
- IBM Storage
- IBM Certified Specialist
- Midrange Storage Technical Support
- Linux Professional Institute Certification 2 or RedHat Certified System Administrator
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Server Infrastructure
- HP-UX Certified System Engineer
- Oracle Certified Professional for Solaris
- VMWare Certified Professional
- IBM Certified Deployment Professional (TSM)
Experience:
- Preferably have 4 years of experience in IT spare parts control & warehouse maintenance
- Willing to be assigned to the specified office location and travel globally as needed
Job Functions:
The primary functions of an AFE include managing spares movement, resolving minor incidents, and assisting with parts deliveries to Field Engineers & Service Partner Engineers onsite. Incidents can relate to servers, tape libraries/drives, storage devices, printers, and other equipment.
Primary Workflow:
- Manage inbound and outbound spares in the warehouse
- Conduct quarterly stock takes at local and partner warehouses
- Perform onsite minor hardware repairs (e.g., hot swap disks, cable reseats)
- Conduct physical and logical audits for proactive sparing
- Perform quarterly preventive maintenance
- Handle spare parts deliveries
- Issue IMRs and PORs
- Assist in investigations for missing parts
- Communicate with customers
- Update internal procedures
- Learn additional technical and non-technical skills
- Sourcing local service and logistics partners
Required Deliverables:
- Maintain above 95% accuracy between inventory database and actual warehouse stock
- Resolve incidents within SLAs
- Provide prompt, professional customer communication
- Meet or re-schedule commitments with customer approval
- Escalate issues appropriately and support 24/7 operations
Accountabilities:
- Manage tickets and monitor status within SLAs
- Monitor warehouse inventory movement
- Ensure warehouse labeling and binning comply with standards
- Follow procedures during onsite activities
- Support timely spare parts support
Disaster Recovery:
- Coordinate urgent parts requirements and maintain good relationships with logistics and partners
- Escalate issues when necessary
Service Call Updates:
- Update GSD & FE on parts requirements promptly
- Ensure all service calls are updated within contract SLAs
OH&S Work Environment:
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Adhere to ESD procedures and OHS requirements
