Job Description
This is an on-site position responsible for providing superior customer service and quality technical support for internal employees and external collaborative business partners. The ITFE will work as part of a team to support employees located at a large construction jobsite in the Abilene area.
Responsibilities
- Interact in person, via telephone, email, IM, and web interface to assist users.
- Analyze, prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, including employee laptops and mobility devices, in a timely fashion according to SLAs and OLAs.
- Install and maintain software, equipment, and networks at the jobsite.
- Create, track, and resolve incidents and tasks in SolarWinds/Samanage.
- Record, track, and audit equipment using the asset management system (Samanage), including asset recovery.
- Maintain company security through established tools.
- Implement rollouts for company technology impacting the jobsite.
- Follow ITIL processes for incident and problem management.
- Provide IT training during onboarding and follow best practices for asset provisioning.
- Contribute to technical and process improvements to enhance the IT organization’s effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT team members to improve service quality.
- Stay current on information technology, especially mobility solutions.
- Work with the jobsite team to design and implement infrastructure according to company standards.
- Liaise with project team members to plan for jobsite IT needs during the project lifecycle.
- Determine, recommend, procure, and execute products or services that meet requester needs within DPR standards.
- Implement and follow jobsite standardization practices.
- Coordinate with service providers and trade partners to install and implement technologies.
- Manage mobilization and demobilization of IT equipment at field offices and remote areas.
- Ensure quality customer service by owning escalated issues until resolution, including communication and root cause analysis.
- Be flexible to work afterhours or weekends as needed.
- Troubleshoot various technical issues at levels 1, 2, or 3 support.
- Coordinate and track IT project deadlines and tasks.
Position Requirements
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
- Technical skills in networking (Cisco/Meraki, protocols like TCP/IP, DHCP, FTP/SFTP, HTTPS).
- Support for video conferencing and scheduling hardware/software.
- Experience supporting Dell/Lenovo/Microsoft workstations and peripherals.
- Support for mobile devices (iOS/Android).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and supporting diverse applications.
- Ability to react quickly and efficiently under pressure.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Team player, open to feedback.
- Ability to work within deadlines with or without supervision.
- Professional interaction with employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with others.
- Experience with Meraki, Microsoft Teams, Poly VC/VOIP, Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, fiber optics, and low voltage technology is a plus.
Education
- AA degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+ and Network+ are preferred. CCNA or MCSA certifications are a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years in a Technical Support role.
- At least 1+ year in a Field Support role.
- Experience in the AEC industry is a plus.
Work Conditions
- On-site position; no remote or hybrid options.
- Based in Abilene at a construction site.
- PPE may be required (DPR provided).
- Dusty conditions are typical.
- This is an hourly position; overtime requires approval.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
