Qualifications

The Level 2 IT Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:

• Perform system designs, developments, and product verification testing on power, control systems, software, hardware, and equipment
• Develop the operations, management, integration, and security requirements, in cooperation with the Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) of increasingly complex systems
• Develop and review system architecture, including relevant use cases
• Manage installation, maintenance, and support of complex technical infrastructures, hardware, and system software components
• Manage and tune technology to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved
• Lead major portions of large or medium complex IT projects and lead small projects autonomously
• Provide highly technical and specialized solutions to complex IT problems
• Perform analyses and studies and prepare summary reports
• Gather facts through research, interviewing, surveys, etc analyze the client's business, draw conclusions, prepare final reports
• Manage the fact-finding, analysis, and development of hypotheses/conclusions, produce final reports and deliver presentations

Qualifications

Eight (8) years of experience as an IT Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, reducing the requirement to six (6) years of IT Engineering experience Four (4) years of additional IT Engineer experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree, making the total experience requirement twelve (12) years as an IT Engineer without a degree Demonstrated subject matter expertise (through experience or certifications) in one or more of the following technology categories: End User Devices and their Operating Systems (Computers, Phones, Video Teleconference) Servers, Routers, Switches, Crypto, Cables Active Directory, Microsoft SharePoint Microsoft Exchange Microsoft Systems Center Corporate Storage Solutions Chat Solutions Integration with Security Technologies such as PKI Customized Voice and Video Software Thin Client and Virtual Infrastructures
