Job summary

LangChain in New York is seeking our second IT Engineer to scale fleet management, SaaS administration, and security as the company grows. You will own Mac fleet deployment, identity controls, and automation, building scalable, tested systems with a focus on least privilege and reliability.

This role suits someone with startup experience who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys turning complex tech into practical solutions for a global team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT engineering and systems administration.
• Deep proficiency with Okta and Okta Workflows.
• Fluency in Python, JavaScript, or similar with production-grade automation.
• REST APIs, webhooks, and API authentication; capable of building integrations.
• Ability to build automations to reduce manual work.
• Terraform IaC to provision IT infrastructure.
• Experience using coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) in workflows.
• Experience with Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Claude, ChatGPT.
• MDM fleet management experience.
• Large SaaS stack administration experience.
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain IT infrastructure and tech stack at scale.
• Drive automation using scripts, APIs, and workflow tools.
• Implement monitoring and documentation practices for operational excellence.
• Design and manage Mac fleet deployment with MDM as a foundation.
• Create secure, maintainable desktop environments with version-controlled scripts.
• Own security controls and deployment across the fleet for scalable updates.
• Develop fleet management systems to scale with headcount and growth.
• Provide global IT support across hardware, software, networking, and tools.
• Deliver strong onboarding experiences for new hires with proper setup.
