For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see .** **JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS**The Information Technology Services Office of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is seeking students to work across a variety of information technology disciplines including, but not limited to: endpoint systems administration, computing support, networking, and cybersecurity.ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.**Responsibilities include:*** Assisting in Computer deployment ticketing* Assisting in OS installation, configuration, and testing of end-user desktop computing hardware and software* Assisting in end-user desktop customization and delivery* Assisting with equipment inventory and auditing* Technical writing* Assisting in the development of process and equipment documentation* Assisting with software package updating, development, and testing* Assisting with various initiatives and other duties as assigned**Required skills and experience include:*** Excellent communication, customer service, technical writing, and organizational skills**Preferred skills and experience include:*** Configuration, installation, and support of desktop computing equipment as well as programming* Microsoft Windows and Linux systems in a domain environmentThe successful candidate will work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours per week over the summer. Hours will vary.This is a paid part-time position, located near Penn State’s University Park Campus in State College, PA.
