This is a hybrid role requiring consistent, regular on-site presence at our Ironworks Campus in Beloit, Wisconsin. The successful candidate must reside within reasonable driving distance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic IT Leadership & Innovation (Driving & Innovating):

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that directly aligns with WPI's business objectives and growth plans.
  • Lead the assessment, selection, and implementation of new technologies to optimize business processes, enhance customer experience, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Drive major modernization initiatives, including the strategic replacement of legacy systems and the overhaul of remote desktop infrastructure (e.g., VDI solutions).
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the IT function and across the organization.

2. Financial Stewardship & Cost Optimization:

  • Manage the overall IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maximizing return on technology investments.
  • Identify opportunities for IT cost optimization through vendor negotiation, cloud strategy, and efficient resource allocation.
  • Implement IT policies and procedures that balance technological advancement with fiscal responsibility.

3. Cybersecurity & Risk Management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust cybersecurity strategy to protect WPI's data, systems, and customer information.
  • Oversee regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and incident response planning to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and data protection regulations.

4. IT Operations & Infrastructure Oversight:

  • Provide leadership for all IT operations, including network management, hardware/software support, and data integrity.
  • Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of WPI's IT infrastructure to support our daily claims administration services.
  • Optimize IT service delivery, ensuring high availability and responsiveness to internal user needs.

5. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team (including potential future hires), fostering a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate closely with the CFO, Claims Operations, Sales, and other department heads to understand their needs and deliver impactful IT solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, building consensus and alignment on IT initiatives.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving significant technological change and delivering measurable business results.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic IT planning, infrastructure modernization (e.g., VDI, cloud migrations), and robust cybersecurity practices.
  • Exceptional financial acumen with experience managing IT budgets and optimizing technology costs.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to lead and develop IT teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Proactive, highly accountable, and a strategic problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with the EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) framework is a significant plus, or a demonstrated ability to quickly adopt and thrive within a structured, accountable management system.
