General Description
The UX Architect is responsible for the evolution and continuous improvement of member/user experience across Golden 1’s digital channels, including the public website, online banking and the mobile app, and any custom-built properties. Understands, captures, and translates business and functional objectives into interactive prototypes with detailed IA and UI/UX design specifications. Leads the build /update of digital interfaces by providing guidance or directly working on the frontend, making sure all visual and textual assets are SEO and ADA compliant. Partners with the UX researchers to initiate and lead usability and accessibility studies. Creates, manages, and maintains the internal design system. Closely collaborates with the rest of the Digital UX & Product Management team, Martech team, Marketing, IT, and other LOB stakeholders, acting as liaison and a UCD champion. Actively facilitates IA and UX/UI-related efforts, representing the team in cross-functional efforts in addition to other assigned IA and UX/UI resources. Builds and maintains a close working relationship with all stakeholders, across all levels of the enterprise, including the executive management up to the SVP level.

Responsibilities
- Serves as the SME and champion of usability and user experience, and user-centered design (UCD) to improve the user experience of Golden 1’s digital properties.
- Provides architectural deliverables, such as user task/journey flows, storyboards, prototypes, publishable interfaces, content, and style guides. Drives IA and UX/UI-related business requirements in collaboration with business analysts, content strategists and digital analysts.
- Provides guidance and solution options for complaints and suggestions received; generates proposals for IA and UX enhancements. Presents IA and UX design proposals to executives and pertinent lines of business.
- Executes approved IA and UX design ideas through front-end programming in Sitecore to create, maintain and improve digital interfaces.
- Informs the executive vision and decision-making towards the further, continuous evolution of the digital properties to achieve set business objectives. Captures and translates the executive leadership vision into concrete UX deliverables.
- Keeps current with front-end development languages and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery), Bootstrap, etc. Keeps current with emerging human-computer interaction (HCI) technologies and user experience methodologies.
- Provides guidance and mentorship to junior designer(s) and other team members in the creation of wireframes, comps, copywriting for the web, and other deliverables, in support of marketing efforts.
- Reviews all (third-party) research on feedback, usability and user personas, organizing data for easy reference whenever applicable, as well as for safekeeping within the Digital IA/UX & Product Management library.
- Works with vendors to customize 3rd party solutions to meet Golden 1’s voice, branding and styling requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Physical skills, abilities, and exertion: Effective oral and written communication, ability to evaluate staff, prepare, and present recommendations, and perform analysis.
- Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment.

- Internal: All levels of staff.
- External: Vendors, management, other financial institutions and contact centers.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Management Information Systems and/or comparable experience. Master’s degree preferred. UX Certification strongly preferred.
- Experience: Seven or more years of UI and UX design and development work.
- Knowledge/Skills: Advanced working knowledge of Sitecore or similar CMS. Expert-level skills with front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (Bootstrap). Proficiency with design and prototyping tools. Ability to translate requirements into deliverables. Experience with usability and web analytics concepts. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Strategic thinking and ability to align with business goals.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting; occasional mobility required.

- Hearing within normal range; device to enhance hearing provided if needed.
- Occasional movements to interact with staff and complete tasks.
Licenses / Certifications
- Recognized UX certification (e.g., Nielsen’s UX Master) or from an accredited university.
