Job summary

GAF is seeking an enthusiastic IT Data Analytics Intern to join our technology and data team in Parsippany, NJ. You will work with data engineers, IT analysts, and business stakeholders to turn raw data into insights and support data-driven decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities include data preparation, SQL querying, dashboard development with Power BI or Tableau, and automating reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related STEM field.
• Basic-to-intermediate SQL proficiency for querying databases.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau).
• Strong foundation in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
• Preferred: exposure to Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Data Preparation & Cleaning: assist with extracting, transforming, and cleaning data from IT and business systems to ensure data quality.
• Querying & Analysis: write and optimize SQL queries to investigate data anomalies and pull records.
• Dashboard Development: build, update, and maintain interactive reports and visual dashboards (Power BI/Tableau).
• Process Automation: help transition manual reporting into automated, scalable data solutions.
• Collaboration & Documentation: document data definitions, workflows, and requirements; work in agile teams.
