Job summary

Kearney & Company is seeking an IT Control Assessment Manager to lead IT A-123 controls assessments and strengthen governance for federal clients. The role combines advisory leadership with hands-on execution across IT risk, security, and compliance engagements.

You will mentor teams, develop remediation plans, and drive JIT improvements while supporting internal IT audit and control activities. Salary ranges reflect US market norms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years experience in IT Audit and internal controls assessment.
• BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university.
• Minimum 2 years of federal government experience.
• Minimum 2 years of external assessment workpaper writing experience under CIGIE or GAGAS.
• Must have an in depth understanding of IT general and application controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT A-123 controls assessments and ITGCs, BPACs, audits, and evaluations.
• Facilitate workshops, risk assessments, and client meetings to evaluate processes and risks.
• Identify recommendations to improve security, compliance, operations, and resilience.
• Collaborate with executives, owners, and teams to remediate deficiencies with sustainable plans.
• Develop remediation strategies, POA&Ms, and long-term control improvements.
• Review remediation activities to ensure actions address root causes and meet requirements.
• Support modernization projects: ERP, cloud, and digital transformation with governance integrated.
• Create executive presentations, reports, and client deliverables conveying risks and priorities.
• Mentor senior staff and provide coaching, quality reviews, and career guidance.
• Support business development with proposals and client presentations for opportunities.
• Contribute to GRC methodologies, templates, accelerators, and service offerings.
