Job summary

Gfoat in Irving, Texas is seeking a communications technician to design, install, troubleshoot and maintain hardware and software across fixed wireless networks, including P25 systems. You will install 12-volt mobile gear, radios, MDT computers, chargers and related equipment while providing on-call support for emergencies.

A associate degree and three years of related experience are required, along with knowledge of MS Office and Windows OS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a related field and three years of job-related experience required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems required.
• Familiarity with radio programming software and communications test equipment and an FCC license preferred.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Texas driver's license.
• Must be able to provide expedient on-call support for emergencies during evening and weekend hours.
• All applicants will be subject to a criminal history check.
• A conviction for Class B misdemeanor and above is disqualifying.

Responsibilities

antennas and related equipment; providing technical assistance and support to communications system users; performing
routine inspections, testing and preventive maintenance of communications equipment; maintaining accurate equipment,
maintenance and operational records; and responding to communications system outages and other emergency situations as
needed. Systems supported may include microwave, base station, multiplexing, fiber, alarm and other related communications
equipment.
PAY GRADE IT22 / FULL PAY RANGE $35.72 – $50.35 PER HOUR ($74,304 – $104,748 ANNUALLY)
