Job summary

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking an Advanced Concepts & Technologies IT Co-op Student (Fall 2026) to provide comprehensive IT hardware/software support for 70+ users. The role involves OS installations, network configuration, and troubleshooting across Windows, Linux, and Mac environments, with a focus on security and infrastructure improvement.

The candidate will work within Group 39 to develop IT solutions, gain hands-on experience with virtualization, and participate in ongoing IT projects.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in accredited Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Networking/IT Degree program.
Must be knowledgeable of Windows 11, Windows Server, Mac OS X, and Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.).
Understanding of virtualization concepts; basic experience with various hypervisors.
Familiarity with Microsoft applications and basic networking knowledge.

Responsibilities

Provide complete IT hardware/software support for 70+ users.
Perform OS installations and troubleshooting for Windows 11, Windows Server, and Linux.
Configure and maintain LAN-based network infrastructure and remote connections.
Assist staff with hardware, software, and network issues on and off-site.
Identify vulnerabilities and apply patches and fixes; support IT infrastructure growth.
