Job summary

WEC Energy Group is seeking an IT Cloud Server & Storage Platform Engineer to build and maintain cloud infrastructure across Milwaukee, Pewaukee, or Green Bay locations. The role blends operational duties with strategic initiatives, collaborating with development teams to deploy cloud-based apps and services.

Minimum 2+ years in IT infrastructure; preferred Azure/AWS development experience, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC tooling. Hybrid work is available with some on-site time required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 2+ years of IT infrastructure experience.
• Preferred: Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field.
• 2+ years of Azure and/or AWS development experience.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Terraform IaC, FinOps, CI/CD Pipelines, CNAPP.

Responsibilities

• Provision virtual machines and storage in the cloud.
• Handle backup and patch management for cloud resources.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage cloud resources.

This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time regularly spent in the office.

This position is part of a job family (Infrastructure Consultant and Senior Infrastructure Consultant) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

The Infrastructure Consultant for the Cloud Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining cloud infrastructure for the corporation. The Cloud Platform Engineer carries both operational and strategic responsibilities. The Cloud Platform Engineer collaborates with development teams to deploy and maintain cloud-based applications and services.

Job Responsibilities

• Provision virtual machines and storage based resources in the cloud
• Provision backup and patch management of server based resources in the cloud
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for managing and provisioning cloud based resources
• Maintain and govern library for IaC shared modules
• Collaborate with on-premise infrastructure teams to align infrastructure standards
• Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis for cloud infrastructure
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call support role on a rotating basis

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2+ years of IT infrastructure experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field
• 2+ years of Azure and/or AWS development experience
• Azure, AWS, Azure DevOps, Terraform IaC, FinOps, CI/CD Pipelines, or CNAPP experience
• Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Backup, AWS EC2 instances, AWS Storage, or AWS Backup experience
• Production support experience with large enterprise applications

Pay Range Minimum: $78,702.26

Pay Range Maximum: $135,761.08

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
