Job summary

Mizuho Financial Group Inc. is seeking an IT Business Manager in New York to partner with Technology leadership on financial planning, workforce management, reporting, and governance across the Technology organization.

In this role you will translate complex data into decision-ready insights, maintain budgets and forecasts, and support senior technology leaders with strategic planning. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in technology business management, finance, or operational roles.
  • Experience supporting senior Technology leaders in large, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail, data integrity, and follow-through.
  • Sound judgment and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain rolling forecast models, integrating workforce changes, project timelines, vendor activity, and contract milestones.
  • Analyze financial performance, variances, key drivers, and risks; present decision-ready insights and remediation options.
  • Ensure budgets, cost centers, funding sources, and metadata are accurate throughout the year.
  • Provide visibility into spend trends, run-rate risks, and savings opportunities; reflect actions in forecasts.
  • Synthesize, ensure accuracy, and maintain consistency of leadership reporting materials for senior-level decision-making.
  • Coordinate meeting agendas, materials, and preparation timelines to support leadership operating rhythms.
  • Track actions, risks, and decisions arising from meetings and escalation points requiring leadership attention.
  • Maintain leadership-ready workforce views, including headcount, roles, reporting lines, start/end dates, and funding alignment.
  • Track joiner, mover, and leaver activity; coordinate with functional partners for timely onboarding, transitions, and offboarding.
  • Support core talent processes with HR, coordinating inputs, timelines, and governance.
  • Surface workforce-related operational risks and constraints, such as seating and workplace needs for new hires.
  • Maintain accuracy of vendor, contract, and contractor data, including dates, renewals, and funding impacts.
  • Monitor timing and financial impacts of onboarding, contract changes, or seasonal workforce adjustments; reflect in forecasts and reporting.
  • Surface vendor-related dependencies or risks affecting cost, timing, or planning assumptions.
  • Support updates to technology roadmaps by identifying timing changes, dependencies, and impacts on financial or workforce plans.
  • Validate that new initiatives align to approved budgets and plans and that required data is complete prior to leadership review.

    • Validate that new initiatives align to approved budgets and plans and that required data is complete prior to leadership review.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary ranges from $150k‑$200k, with compensation based on relevant skills, experience, education, certifications, and market factors. Successful candidates are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a generous employee benefits package.
