Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Gather and document requirements for client-facing reports, dashboards, metrics, and visualizations.
• Support the development and enhancement of Power BI solutions and validate data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Maintain business rules, data definitions, reporting requirements, and operational documentation.
• Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and integration requirements.
• Partner with Data Engineering on Snowflake solutions and analyze data flows across source systems, Snowflake, Power BI, and the Client Portal.
• Perform data reconciliation, impact analysis, and root-cause analysis to address data quality issues.
• Provide functional support for Client Portal data, reporting, and visualization capabilities.
• Participate in incident triage, issue investigation, root-cause analysis, and resolution.
• Support production releases through testing, validation, post-deployment monitoring, and maintenance of runbooks and support procedures.
• Find opportunities to improve data quality, reporting processes, and increase support efficiency.
• Work closely with offshore support partner in India and coordinate priorities across time zones.
• Facilitate requirements sessions and translate business needs into user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Support backlog prioritization, solution design, user acceptance testing, and release planning.
• Act as a liaison among business users, product teams, data engineers, developers, support teams, and third-party partners.

HarbourVest is seeking an experienced valuation professional to join its Evergreen Valuations team. This individual will play a key role in the daily valuation of evergreen fund investments. We are seeking an IT Business Analyst to support the data, reporting, and visualization capabilities of our Client Portal. This role will partner with business interested parties, product owners, data engineering teams, and external partners to ensure the reliable delivery and support of client‑facing reports, dashboards, and investment data. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Power BI, investment data, Snowflake integrations, data mapping, and production support, with the ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and high‑quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data, Reporting & Visualization

• Gather and document requirements for client‑facing reports, dashboards, metrics, and visualizations.
• Support the development and enhancement of Power BI solutions and validate data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Maintain business rules, data definitions, reporting requirements, and operational documentation.

Investment Data & Snowflake Integration

• Support investment data across client, fund, portfolio, transaction, and performance domains.
• Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and integration requirements.
• Partner with Data Engineering on Snowflake solutions and analyze data flows across source systems, Snowflake, Power BI, and the Client Portal.
• Perform data reconciliation, impact analysis, and root‑cause analysis to address data quality issues.

Production Support & Operational Excellence

• Provide functional support for Client Portal data, reporting, and visualization capabilities.
• Participate in incident triage, issue investigation, root‑cause analysis, and resolution.
• Support production releases through testing, validation, post‑deployment monitoring, and maintenance of runbooks and support procedures.
• Find opportunities to improve data quality, reporting processes, and increase support efficiency.

Offshore Support Partner Coordination

• Work closely with, and at times provide functional management of, the offshore support partner in India.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day priorities, work intake, assignments, project progress, support coverage, and issue resolution across time zones.
• Provide business context and requirement clarification, review the work, and ensure alignment with quality and service expectations.
• Support knowledge transfer, operational readiness, open status reporting, and accountability across the distributed team.

Business Analysis & Partner Management

• Facilitate requirements sessions and translate business needs into user stories, process flows, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Support backlog prioritization, solution design, user acceptance testing, and release planning.
• Act as a liaison among business users, product teams, data engineers, developers, support teams, and third‑party partners.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience coordinating or functionally managing offshore support teams, preferably in India.
• Experience with Agile delivery practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Success in This Role

Success will be measured by the accurate and reliable delivery of Client Portal data and reporting, clear requirements and data mappings, timely resolution of production issues, effective coordination with the offshore support partner, and strong collaboration across business, product, data, and technology teams.

Base Salary Range

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00

This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus eligibility, total compensation may include participation in long‑term reward programs (typically for more senior‑level roles). We also offer a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement contributions, health insurance, income protection, paid time off and leave benefits as well as well‑being programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
