Job summary

UNIVERSAL Technologies LLC is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst for an onsite role in New York NY to support large scale workflow software initiatives for the NYC DOT PMO. You will analyze, document and implement mission-critical applications used in permitting, inspections and asset tracking across NYC.

The role requires extensive experience in requirements elicitation, BRDs/FRDs, and collaboration with executives and technical teams.

Qualifications

• BABS Degree or equivalent in a business communications or technology related field.
• 6 years of experience specifying analyzing and documenting requirements for mission critical business applications in a web-client/server environment.
• Strong facilitation skills with proven experience driving consensus across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Expertise using Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with executives, managers and subject matter experts.
• Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills to translate business needs into application requirements.
• Process-driven analysis skills and experience with elicitation methodologies.
• Proficiency with Waterfall, RUP and Agile SDLC methodologies.
• Ability to estimate level of effort and delivery commitments for stakeholders.
• Effective presentation and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence and Microsoft SharePoint Server.
• Experience building and/or supporting Salesforce-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current processes, workflows and pain points to identify gaps and high value improvements.
• Produce clear Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) capturing objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Translate business needs into Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs) for design and testing.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops and discovery sessions.
• Analyze complex information, dependencies and feasibility to meet business objectives.
• Develop process maps, workflow diagrams and system documentation for current and future states.
• Maintain requirements traceability matrices through all project phases.
• Collaborate with developers, architects and QA to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities with test cases and validations.
• Produce documentation including use cases, user stories and acceptance criteria.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

• Evaluate current processes workflows and pain points to identify gaps opportunities and high value improvements that align with organizational goals while strengthening business partner relationships
• Produce clear and structured Business Requirements Documents BRDs that accurately capture objectives scope constraints and stakeholder expectations
• Translate business needs into detailed Functional Requirements Documents FRDs that support solution design development and testing activities
• Conduct stakeholder interviews workshops and discovery sessions to gather information validate assumptions and ensure requirements accurately reflect operational needs
• Analyze complex business information identify dependencies evaluate feasibility reconcile conflicting requirements and ensure solutions meet business objectives
• Develop process maps workflow diagrams user flows and system documentation that illustrate current state and future state business processes
• Maintain requirements traceability matrices to ensure all requirements are tracked throughout analysis development testing and implementation phases
• Partner with developers architects and QA teams to clarify requirements resolve ambiguities and support solution design efforts
• Apply knowledge of application programming databases technical specifications and system architectures including Internet Intranet Extranet and clientserver environments
• Support User Acceptance Testing UAT activities through test case development requirements validation defect tracking and gap analysis
• Produce comprehensive documentation including use cases user stories acceptance criteria and system specifications
• Independently engage with stakeholders while incorporating leadership guidance applying feedback and adhering to established project management and industry standards
