Job summary

Wintrust is looking for a highly self-motivated IT Internal Audit professional to join the IT Internal Audit team in Rosemont, IL. You will assist with audit testing activities across technology, information security, and digital channels, participating in engagements that drive risk mitigation and process improvement.

Responsibilities include executing tests per IIA standards, documenting narratives, and communicating findings clearly to audit leadership, clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• 1.5 to 3 years of relevant audit experience in public accounting or internal audit; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of internal audit processes (sampling, testing, walkthroughs) and work paper documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with auditing software (TeamMate+) a plus
• A relevant certification (CIA, CPA, or CFE) a plus.

Position Overview

Wintrust is looking for a highly self-motivated, creative and enthusiastic professional to join the Wintrust IT Internal Audit team. We are offering professionals an opportunity to continuously learn and develop their IT technical skills while learning how the business runs. This position will be responsible for assisting with the completion of audit testing activities relating to internal audit engagements. The position is part of the larger IT audit team responsible for audits related to the company’s current and emerging Technology, Information Security, Digital Channels, as well as other special projects. The role will work in a collaborative environment to execute the audits while occasionally working independently with supervision.

What You’ll Do

• Execute testing according to department and IIA standards, producing clear, concise documentation that aligns with test objectives.
• Participate in process walkthroughs and document narratives and conclusions when requested.
• Contribute to the positive and team-oriented culture by maintaining cooperative relationships (assisting other project teams when necessary), facilitating the resolution of conflicts, sharing information, and accepting and providing feedback.
• Develop positive working relationships and maintain effective communication with the audit leadership team, audit team members, clients, and key stakeholders.
• Apply analytical skills to review information, assess audit results, and evaluate the adequacy of controls.
• Prepare clear and concise audit findings and recommendations for management review.
• Representing Wintrust and internal audit, along with the manager, on events and projects when asked.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
