Job summary

MetLife's Internal Audit team seeks an IT Auditor II to provide independent assurance over technology risks and controls, while building expertise in cloud, cybersecurity, and AI initiatives within a high-performing global team. This role focuses on supporting the audit lifecycle and developing technology expertise within a dynamic environment.

This hybrid role requires a minimum of 3 days in the office in Cary, NC, with a salary range of $65,200–$86,900 and eligibility for annual incentives.

  • At least 1 year of IT audit/technology risk related experience.
  • Understanding cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, data governance, or application development risk controls.

Job description

As part of Internal Audit at MetLife, you’ll play a critical role protecting MetLife and its stakeholders by delivering both independent, risk-based, and objective assurance through audit execution and providing advice and insights through strategic advisory engagements. Collaborating across the company, you’ll use your strategic problem-solving skills, consulting expertise, and ethical standards to support the company’s growth strategy. The Opportunity

The IT Auditor II is expected to contribute throughout the audit lifecycle and support the delivery of technology audits using contemporary audit techniques, including data analytics and digital tools. The role is focused on obtaining assurance over technology risks and controls while developing deeper technology expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Accounting, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in IT audit, technology risk management, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud technologies, software development, or a related technology discipline.
  • Understanding of technology risks and controls across one or more domains such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, data governance, or application development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to document testing results, communicate risks effectively, and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development, including maintaining awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CIA, CPA, or equivalent, or progress towards obtaining a certification
  • Experience using data analytics, automation, or audit technology tools to enhance audit effectiveness
  • Knowledge of financial services technology environments, regulatory expectations, and risk management practices

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is $65,200 - $86,900. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
