Job summary

Plante Moran is seeking an IT Audit professional to perform and supervise IT audits and ITGC testing across diverse clients. The role involves evaluating controls, coordinating with client stakeholders, and contributing to internal initiatives.

Candidates should have 2–5 years of IT audit experience, familiarity with control frameworks, and willingness to travel up to 25%. A CPA/CISA/CIA is preferred within 2 years.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years’ experience performing IT audits or IT control risk evaluation.
  • Preference for certifications (CISA, CIA, CPA) within 2 years.
  • Ability to summarize findings clearly for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform IT audits (design tests, operating effectiveness) in support of ICFR.
  • Conduct ITGC testing (access control, SDLC, change mgmt, ops) across industries.
  • Familiarity with COSO, COBIT, NIST, ISO frameworks.
  • Manage multiple client projects through full lifecycle and communicate results.
  • Train new team members on IT Audit concepts.
  • Participate in professional conferences and internal initiatives.

Your role.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Performing Information Technology(IT) Audits (test of design, test of operative effectiveness) in a collaborative team setting in support of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting for compliance with various regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, FDICIA, JSOX) as an external and internal auditor.
  • Performing Information TechnologyGeneral Controls (ITGC) testing (e.g., logical access, system development lifecycle, change management, computer operations, etc.) in various industries including Financial Services, Services Industry, Public Sector, Healthcare and Manufacturing as individual contributor and subject matter resource.
  • Familiarity with information technology and internal control frameworks including COSO, COBIT, NIST, ISO, etc.
  • Managing multiple client projects with responsibilities throughout the full project lifecycle, including preparing for audit fieldwork, leading client discussions, completing testing, documenting reports, and communicating results to client stakeholders.
  • Training new members on IT Audit concepts through formal training and on-the-job training.
  • Attending professional conference events to support ongoing team growth.
  • Contributing to internal firm initiatives including recruiting, seeking efficiencies in client delivery, and exploring new technologies to support internal and external projects.
The qualifications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Information Systems or similar discipline required.
  • 2-5 years' experience performing and supervising IT Audits, Technology Risk Assessments, or IT internal control risk evaluation and reporting.
  • Current certificate or commitment to obtain preferred certifications within 2 years. Preferred certifications include CISA, CIA or CPA.
  • Concise professional writing skills to summarize key takeaways and project challenges/deficiencies to project stakeholders.
  • Flexible schedule required to be responsive to client requests within total and billable hours goals.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proven experience in a professional services or client-facing role.
  • Proficiency with audit tools and Microsoft office suite.
  • Superior attention to detail and conscientious quality of work product
  • Professional demeanor with superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Potential travel up to 25%

This is an exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
