Vanguard is hiring an IT Audit Engagement Manager for the Global Technology Audit Services Team (GTAS)! This role is critical in delivering assurance and advisory services focused on technology risks and internal controls across a range of IT platforms. Areas of coverage include IT governance, infrastructure, SDLC, change management, application controls, data integrity, access management, threat and vulnerability oversight, monitoring, incident response, backup and recovery, and physical security. You will lead risk-based audits, assess control effectiveness, and influence senior leaders to strengthen the control environment. The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of IT audit experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across business and technology teams.

You will define audit scope, evaluate risk, and identify root causes of control gaps. Responsibilities include delivering clear, actionable recommendations, presenting findings to management, and mentoring team members. Success in this role requires strong project management, sound judgment, and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure timely delivery of high-quality audit work and value-add recommendations. Evaluate the adequacy of technology controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.

  • Define and communicate engagement objectives, scope, and risk levels to audit teams and stakeholders. Analyze data to identify root causes and challenge existing processes to ensure effective risk mitigation.

  • Present audit results and recommendations to management, influencing action to strengthen the control environment.

  • Set expectations and provide timely feedback to audit team members to support their development.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technology management and risk partners.

  • Contribute to special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience leading IT audit engagements.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience; IT-related degree preferred. Graduate degree a plus.

  • Strong technical understanding of IT environments and controls.

  • Proven project management experience; PMP certification preferred.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.

  • This is a hybrid role based out of the Chesterbrook, PA office. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance, as fully remote work and relocation support are not available for this position.
