Job summary

Highmark Health is offering a Summer 2027 Undergraduate IT Audit Internship to gain hands-on experience across IT audit, cybersecurity, data privacy, risk management and governance. You will work with IT Audit, Information Security, Privacy and Risk Management teams to evaluate controls protecting assets and systems while ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support IT audit, cybersecurity, data privacy, risk management, and governance activities.
• Assist with evaluating technology and security risks and control effectiveness.
• Contribute to audit methodologies, project planning, and reporting.
• Engage with stakeholders across the organization to assist in risk assessments.
• Gain exposure to HIPAA compliance and data privacy requirements.
• Participate in day-to-day audit activities and assurance engagements.
• Develop recommendations for process improvements and action proposals.
