Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an IT Asset and CMDB Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a remote position. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton's United States Coast Guard (USCG) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) program. This program is an enterprise IT delivery service focused on innovation and modernization of the USCG enterprise IT environment, within a managed service business model. The IT Asset and CMDB Analyst supports IT Service Management (ITSM) delivery operations by supporting IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management practices.
- Supports total asset visibility, logistics, maintenance, and warranty of assets.
- Supports the program-wide implementation of a Total Asset Visibility (TAV) solution to improve asset data management.
- Maintains current hardware and software inventories, leveraging business processes and technology.
- Supports hardware refresh programs.
- Ensures accuracy of the configuration management database (CMDB) and compliance with processes.
- Manages the full lifecycle of the CMDB from creation to disposition.
- Develops and maintains processes for asset and configuration data control throughout its lifecycle.
- Develops the CMDB data model and processes for data ingestion, normalization, and reconciliation from various sources.
- Establishes relationships between assets and configuration items.
- Creates manual and automated CMDB processes, aiming for automation where possible.
- Works with development teams to improve the platform hosting the CMDB.
- Maintains the authoritative CMDB baseline through change management and audits.
- Supports audits to ensure data consistency with physical assets and configuration items.
- Prepares inventory, business activity, and forecast reports.
- Supports asset and configuration SLAs and concepts of operations.
- Provides continual service improvement recommendations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years, or a High School diploma with 9 years of experience.
- Degree in business administration, management, information systems, IT, engineering, or equivalent experience considered.
- U.S. Citizenship and active secret clearance required.
- Minimum 5 years in large, complex IT programs delivering enterprise managed services to government agencies.
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification or ability to obtain.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience developing and maintaining enterprise CMDBs and data models.
- Strong understanding of asset, configuration, and change management processes.
- Familiarity with enterprise IT tools and solutions for asset and configuration data.
- Knowledge of hardware and software solutions for enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with DoD IT security requirements.
