Scope of Job
Responsible for providing mid-level support and administration for IT applications to ensure that required specifications are implemented. To coordinate installations and upgrades with multiple IT teams and university departments to optimize the effectiveness of the interaction of information systems and organizational processes.

Bachelors Degree in CIS , CS or a closely related field from an accredited university.

Required Experience
Two (2) years of experience administering IT applications, including overseeing the development and implementation of software solutions and applications. Experience in database coding, such as SQL .
Preferred Experience
Knowledge of SQL for querying and technical tools and best practices for quality assurance and change management. Experience writing interface code with application for static, reporting, and trending reports. Experience with enterprise-level applications, such as CRM , data warehouse and others. Experience in relational database administration, including MSSQL , oracle or similar large-scale database. Experience with programs and languages such as Vbscript, C#, powershell, Perl, Bash Shell scripting, Java, ASP , PHP and/or SQL .
Equipment
Use of personal computer and ability to use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, & Power Point. Standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment. May be required to work evenings and/or weekends. Occasional travel will be required. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Must have strong organizational skills and a high level of problem solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to master new technology and applications. Must be able to multitask and manage projects concurrently.
