Amazon.com Services LLC, part of Amazon Finance Technology, seeks an IT Application Engineer II to advance the FinTech General Ledger team and modernize Oracle ERP workflows used for month-end closes.

You will drive automations across GL, AP, AR, and Fixed Assets, leveraging Oracle EBS (R12.2) and AWS to speed closes and improve accuracy. This role blends engineering rigor with finance operations at scale.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Oracle e-Business Suite in a multiple organization and multiple set of books environment.
  • 4+ years of software development experience.
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL best practices.
  • Knowledge of one or multiple accounting frameworks (US GAAP, IFRS, local GAAP).
  • Experience developing and debugging PL/SQL on Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.2).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to work on enhancements to existing workflows or creating new workflows.
  • Enhance and simplify complex customizations and integrations to enhance customer experience.

Amazon Finance Technology (FinTech) isn't just building software—we're engineering the financial backbone that enables Amazon's explosive global expansion. We're looking for an Oracle Applications Developer to join our Close Orchestration team (GL PILOT - Process Innovation, Ledger Onboarding and Task Automation), where you'll power the systems that ensure timely, accurate financial closes across one of the world's most complex financial operations.

You will be working on Oracle ERP platforms that orchestrate end-to-end month-end close processes across General Ledger and critical sub-ledgers (AP, AR, Fixed Assets). Every automation you build, directly impacts Amazon's ability to close books faster, more accurately, and with greater confidence.

As part of our the Close Orchestration vertical, you'll get opportunity to

  • Invent breakthrough automation that eliminates manual intervention and accelerates close cycles

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Oracle e-Business Suite in a multiple organization and multiple set of books environment
  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL best practices
  • Knowledge of one or multiple accounting frameworks (including US GAAP, IFRS, or local GAAP frameworks), with the ability to apply them in day-to-day financial activities
  • Experience developing and debugging PL/SQL on Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.2) — working within EBS schemas/objects (AP, GL), reading and troubleshooting existing production packages, and diagnosing runtime/data issues (logs, SHOW ERRORS, tracing dependencies).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a test-driven and formal QA development environment, including development, staging, production (or equivalent) deployment cycles
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
  • Knowledge of data structures, data modeling, and database schema
  • Experience using Oracle, or experience or equivalent experience in finance roles
  • Experience supporting month-end closing processes and contributing to financial reporting under established procedures, or experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
